A sure sign Spring is near.
This is Jim Sumpter and you'll have "My Take" after this...
(Insert commercial)
Well, there's a sure-fire way to tell that Winter is losing its grip and Spring is near - it's the rising price of gas.
And with so much going on, you probably haven't even noticed the ever-creeping crawl toward four dollar a gallon gas.
The lie that always gets passed around at this time of year is that we start driving more in the Spring and Summer, gas formulations change, and gas isn't nearly as plentiful because of increased demand and the natural lag of delivery.
What a bunch of bull-loney.
Demand that is easily predicted due to a long history is not demand - it's simply seasonal consumption. And it can easily be planned for; but Big Oil, with its corrupting influence on our country - in both foreign and domestic policy - rarely misses a chance to be greedy.
And greed, pure and simple greed, like Spring is just around the corner.
I’m Jim Sumpter and that's "My Take".
